Maritime ports asked to hoist signal number 3

The low pressure area over northwest bay off Odisha coast of India and adjoining areas now lies over Northwest Bay off west Bengal-Bangladesh coast and adjoining areas, agencies report. Deep convection is continuing over North Bay and adjoining areas, a Met Office weather warning message said today.

Squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh. Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. three (r) three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to keep close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
