Mayor seeks cooperation for smooth uplift in Rangpur

RANGPUR – Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has sought sincere cooperation of the civil society members for ensuring smooth uplift to building a modern city,BSS reports.

The City Mayor, also a valiant freedom fighter, made the call while presiding over a regular meeting of the ‘Civil Society Coordination Committee (CSCC)’ at City Bhaban auditorium on Monday afternoon.

The City Governance Project of the LGED extended cooperation in arranging the meeting for smoothly running development activities of the city corporation involving the City Councilors and civil society members.

Chief Executive Officer of RCC Ruhul Amin Khan, its Secretary Fazlul Kabir, Executive Engineer Azam Ali, Members of the CSCC, all City Councilors, representatives from the civil society and professional groups attended the meeting.

Chief Executive Officer of RCC Ruhul Amin Khan elaborately narrating the goals and objectives of the meeting and role of the civil society members in ensuring smooth implementation of the massive ongoing development works in the city.

Panel Mayors of RCC Abul Kashem and Golam Kabir Kajol, City Councilors Sekendar Ali, Idris Ali, Mahbubar Rahman, Mokhlesur Rahman, Jahangir Alam Tota, Jafrin Islam Ripa and a number of the civil society members spoke.

While addressing the meeting, the City Mayor sought cooperation of the civil society members in running administrative, development, service delivery and other activities for ensuring transparency in providing best services and smooth development of the city.

He called upon the CSCC members to work unitedly for building an eco- friendly, well planned, modern, traffic-jam free and beautiful Rangpur city with eye-catching looks and having excellent communication networks and other civic facilities.
