The Duchess of Sussex has been named by the UK edition of Vogue magazine as one of the most influential women working in Britain, according to CNN.
She was featured in the title’s inaugural “Vogue 25” list
alongside human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney, fashion designer Stella McCartney and Harry Potter writer J.K. Rowling.
Vogue said the list captures “an extraordinary cast of leaders defining — and redefining — the way we live now.”
The Duchess of Sussex’s story had “captured the public imagination like no other this year,” the publication said. It added that as a biracial American feminist
, she is “helping to forge a new 21st-century identity for the monarchy.”
The oldest entry was 73-year-old Brenda Hale
, who became the first female president of the UK Supreme Court last July.
Award-winning singer Dua Lipa — who shot to stardom over the past 12 months and became the most streamed artist in the country last year — was the youngest entry at just 22 years old.
, the 39-year-old openly gay leader of the Conservatives in Scotland, was the only politician to be featured.
Davidson was praised as a “beacon” due to her “relatable personality and progressive ideas — not to mention her spectacular gains for her party in the last Scottish elections.”
Collette Roche, the chief operating officer of soccer team Manchester United, and biochemist Priyanka Joshi were also honored.
Other inclusions were models Adwoa Aboah
and Edie Campbell; writer and academic Sinéad Burke; TV producer and environmentalist Orla Doherty; journalists Carole Cadwalladr
, Amelia Gentleman and Katharine Viner
; and Antonia Romeo, the permanent secretary at the UK Department for International Trade.
The list appears in British Vogue’s July issue, on sale from June 8.
