Mild tremor shakes southern district

A mild earthquake shook Chittagong and adjacent districts in the country’s southern region in Monday morning, agencies report. The tremor, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, was felt around 6:27am, according to Dhaka Met Office.

However, there was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 21km southeast of Manikchhari in Khagrachhari and 204km from Dhaka (south-east BMD Seismic Centre, Agargaon)
