Four people, including mother and her son, were killed and eight others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbaria’s Sarail on Sunday morning, reports UNB. The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge of Bishwaroad highway police camp Yunus Mia said the accident took place when the Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at around 6:30am, leaving one dead on the spot and eleven others injured.
The injured were taken to different local clinics and Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital where on-duty physicians declared one of them dead on arrival. Later, a woman and her son succumbed to their injuries at Sadar Hospital, the OC added. Truck driver and his helper managed to flee the scene soon after the incident.
