MPO-listed teachers to get outstanding salary

The teachers of Monthly Pay Order (MPO)-listed educational institutions will get salaries of eight months due under the new pay scale announced for the public servants with April’s salary, agencies report. The Education Ministry issued an order in this regard on Thursday, said a handout.

According to the order, the MPO-listed teachers and employees of non-government high school, college, madrasah and technical institutions will get the due salary accumulated from July 2015 to February 2016.

On 7 September, 2015, the Cabinet approved the new pay scale for government officers and employees raising the monthly basic salary of the Grade 1 public officials to Tk 78,000 (fixed) while the basic pay of Grade 20 employees at Tk 8,250.

On 15 December, the government issued a gazette notification on the 8th pay scale for public servants. Later, 20 December 2015, the Education Ministry issued an order that teachers of the MPO-listed educational institutions will get salaries and other allowances under the new pay scale announced for the public servants.
