The National Productivity Day will be observed in the country on October 2, aiming to boost productivity in all sectors, including industry, agriculture and service, through raising awareness among people, agencies report.
This was disclosed at an inter-ministerial meeting with senior secretary of the Industries Ministry Md Mosharraef Hossain Bhuiyan in the chair at the conference room of the ministry on Wednesday.
National Productivity Organisation under the Industries Ministry has taken up various progammes to observe the day. Rallies and seminars will be arranged in the capital, aiming to create awareness among people regarding productivity, said a PID handout.
State-owned BTV and private television channels will arrange talk-shows, newspapers will publish special supplements on this occassion. Besides, banners, festoons and posters and placards inscribing the importance if raising productivity will be displayed at important points in divisional cities, district and upazila headquarters, rallies and seminars will be arranged with the help of local administrations and trade bodies.
