One held with huge Yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a suspected Rohingya man of Myanmar along with one lakh pieces of Yaba tablets while intruding into Bangladesh territory through Naf River on Saturday afternoon, Agencies report.

Tipped-off that a gang of drug smugglers from Myanmar was entering into Bangladesh illegally through Sabrang border point along Naf River, a patrol team of BGB conducted a drive there.

Sensing the presence of BGB men, the drug smugglers tried to flee the scene.

However, the paramilitary force members managed to arrest Dusto Mohammad, 20, a citizen of Myanmar, along with 99, 665 pieces of the contraband pills worth Tk 2.98 crore.

A case was filed in this connection, said M Abu Rasel Siddiqui, additional director of Teknaf BGB Battalion-2.
