Noting that terrorism and militancy have now emerged as a new global crisis, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday urged all, including the Armed Forces, to extend more cooperation so that no such incident could take place which could deter the country’s development,UNB reports.

“We’ll turn Bangladesh into a peaceful, developed and prosperous country with non-communal spirit. We don’t want any such incident to take place which could deter the country’s development and it’s not at all acceptable,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said this while addressing the graduation ceremony of ‘DSCSC 2016-2017’ of Defence Services Command and Staff College held at Sheikh Hasina Complex at Mirpur Cantonment.

Mentioning that her government has taken all necessary measures to root out terrorism and militancy, the Prime Minister said law enforcement agencies have been prepared in all possible ways in addition to social awareness against this evil.

She said her government has been creating social awareness against these vices to combat the twin problem –‘terrorism and militancy’. “…we’ve also kept involved our law enforcement agencies to combat terrorism and militancy while our Armed Forces have also gained much excellence in this regard.”

Hasina also expressed her firm resolve that Bangladesh would become a peaceful country in South Asia.
