Pre-budget views exchange at CCCI

Chairman of National Board Of Revenue (NBR) Md. Nazibur Rahman said, the upcoming budget will be business and taxpayer friendly. In a bid to ensure transparency in collecting tax, he instructed concerned audit officials to complete audit works thoroughly.
He was speaking at a pre-budget views exchange meeting at Chittagong Chamber Of Commerce & Industry in the port city on Thursday.
“ I will try for favorable consideration of the proposals made by business leaders in today’s meeting in the coming budget” he said as he also informed the house of far-flung planning of NBR.
President of CCCI Mahbubul Alam meanwhile mentioned CCCI prepared 143 proposals of which there were 81 revenue related, 20 VAT while 42 were on income tax. Besides, he stressed speedy implementation of some projects as construction of Karnaphuly Tunnel, Ring road of Chittagong Ctiy, 6-km Bay terminal construction for port expansion, LNG terminal construction at Moheshkhali, coal powered 1320 MW power plant and special allocation in the budget for construction of industrial areas at Mirarsharai and Anwara. He also focused on providing assistance to strike affected businesses and planning on import policy.
CCCI Vice president Sayed Jamal Ahmed sought assistance of NBR in making LMD activities run by CCCI inside Ctg port more dynamic.
Member of NBR (Revenue policy) Md. Fariduddin underscored the need for partnership development by holding meetings every three month with a view to solving different problems of taxpayers while Pervez Iqbal, member of (tax policy) assured of taking necessary measures for ensuring win-win situation for both businesses and revenue collection wings.

Musa, Sowkat Hossain FCA, Abu Sufian, Anamul Hoq Iqbal, Imranuddin, Montosh Chandra Roy, Sayed Sagir Ahmed, Kazi Imran F Rahman, Salamat Ali, Mahbub Rana, Helaluddin Chy, Monzu Khan, Enamul Alam and Swapan Chy among others were present on the occasion, says a press release.
