The Primary School Certificate (PSC) and Ebtedayee Examinations began today with officials courting the number of students appearing countrywide in the exams this year to be 32, 54, 514, a figure which is nearly two lakh more than that of the last year, agencies report. A spokesman of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry said the examinations were being held in 7,052 centres across the country and eight centres abroad.
He said Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman today visited the Motijheel govt Ideal Primary School and Khilgaon Girls School and College centre in the capital. Among the examinees this year, 29,49,063 appeared in the Primary School Certificate examination and the rest 3,05,451 for the Ebtedayee examination.
Students of both the categories will have to sit for examinations on six subjects. The examinations will end on November 29.
Meanwhile, tomorrow’s Bangla examination of Primary School Certificate and Ebtedayee will be held at 11am on November 30. Primary and Mass Education Ministry today suspended the examination due to unavoidable circumstances, an official release said.
