DHAKA: The office hours for all the banks of the country will be from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm during the month of Ramzan, Agencies report.
Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of the country, fixed the time scheduled, and issued a statement in this regard on Wednesday . A notification in this regard signed by Iftekharuddin Ahmed, a joint director of the central bank, was sent to the chief executive officials of all the banks.
Executive director of the Bangladesh Bank and its spokesperson Shuvankar Saha confirmed the matter to this correspondent. According to the central bank’s announcement, the bank staff will get a prayer break from 1:15 pm and 1:30 pm.
The weekly holiday will remain unchanged for Friday and Saturday as per the regular scheduled. The month of fasting is likely to begin on May 27.
