Sexagenarian killed in Sherpur elephant attack

An elderly  woman was killed in an elephant attack at West Bakakura village in Jhenaigati upazila on Monday night, agencies report. The deceased was identified as Sabiran Dewa, 60, wife of late Hazrat Ali of the village.

Officer-in-charge of Jhenaigati Police Station Mizanur Rahman said a wild elephant invaded into the locality from the hill around 9 pm. It attacked Sabiran while she was working in front of her house around 9:30 pm, leaving her dead on the spot.
