Stalker held for beating college girls in city

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive on Saturday night arrested the main perpetrator in connection with an assault on two college girls in the city’s Mirpur area, Agencies report. The arrestee was identified as Jiban Karim Babu.

Details of arrest would be revealed at a press briefing around 12pm, according to sources at Rab-4. Stalkers allegedly assaulted two female students of BCIC College in the capital’s Mirpur-1 area for protesting when they were stalked at in front of the college on Wednesday last.

The stalkers thrashed the twins, brutally, leaving one of the victims with a fractured leg and the other with severe injuries at the waist. The incident took place when the girls were waiting in front of their college for a bus to return home.

The victims were admitted to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). Later, the victims’ father filed a case with Shah Ali Police Station accusing Jiban Karim in this connection.
