Stocks ended higher on the bourses Monday, the second trading session of the week, with turnover increased significantly from the previous session,UNB reports. DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 55.90 points or 1.08 per cent to close at 5214.60.
Turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange, the main bourse of the country, has crossed Tk 12 billion-mark today, marking a significant increase from previous session’s Tk 10.51billion on Sunday.
Of the issues traded on the DSE, 209 advanced, 74 declined and 43 remained unchanged. The export import sector gathered the highest turnover worth of Tk 694.25 million which was 17.95 per cent of total turnover.
Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd. was the most traded stocks with shares worth Tk 694.25 million changing hands followed by SHASHADNIM, BDTHAI, SPCL, CONFIDCEM, APOLOISPAT, BXPHARMA, SAIFPOWER, IFADAUTOS and PENINSULA.
Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Limited was also the day’s top gainer, posting a rise of 9.45 per cent while Samata Leather Complex Ltd. was the day’s worst loser. The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed higher with the Selective Categories Index of the CSE rose 120.02 points to close at 9700.48 points.
Of the 263 issues traded on the DSE, 183 advanced, 60 declined and 20 remained unchanged on the port city bourse that traded 22,53 million share and mutual fund units, generating turnover of Tk 744.80million.
