Key share price indices in the country’s twin bourses – Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) –continued to gain on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, agencies report. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 15.61 points or 0.32 percent to close at 4801.81 on the day. Of the 323 issues traded, 117 gained, 159 declined and 47 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 420.41 crore changed hands at the DSE on Tuesday as against Tk 437.02 crore on Monday. The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Power Grid Company of Bangladesh, Aman Feed, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, BSRM Limited, Appollo Ispat, Apex Footwear, Islami Bank, DBH First Mutual Fund, Monno Ceramic and Exim Bank 1st Mutual Fund.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco Pharma, Aman Feed, BSRM Limited, Islami Bank and Al-Hajj Textiles. Top five losers at the premier bourse were Sonargaon Textiles, Deshbandhu Polymer, Meghna Life Insurance, Popular Life Insurance and Savar Refractories. The CSE key index, CASPI gained 62.81 points to reach 14695.77 at close on Tuesday. Of the 241 issues traded, 105 advanced, 109 suffered loss and 27 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the CSE was Tk 26.03 crore on the day.
