The key share price index at the country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped while port city bourse Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) witnessed gain on Monday, the second trading day of the week, agencies report. The DSE key index, DSEX dropped 6.28 points or 0.14 percent to close at 4617.73 on the day. Of the 323 issues traded, 127 gained, 151 declined and 40 remained unchanged.Shares worth Tk 439.89 crore changed hands at the DSE on Monday as against Tk 366.42 crore on Sunday. Western Marine Shipyard topped the loser’s list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Western Marine Shipyard, Asia Pacific General Insurance, Exim Bank 1st Mutual Fund, 7th ICB Mutual Fund, 5th ICB Mutual Fund, Information Services Network, Sandhani Life Insurance, ICB Islamic Bank, Stylecraft Limited and BATBC.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Beximco, Summit Alliance Port, United Power Generation & Distribution Company, Beximco Pharma and Summit Power. Top five gainers at the DSE were Miracle Industries, Aamra Technologies, Agni Systems, Bangladesh Finance and Investment Corporation and GBB Power Ltd.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 6.55 points to reach 14116.05 at close on Monday. Of the 222 issues traded, 96 advanced, 95 suffered loss and 31 remained unchanged.
The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 29.96 crore on the day.
