Trading on the country’s two bourses is underway with upward trend of share-price indices on Wednesday, the fourth trading day of the week,UNB reports.
After first one hour of the day’s trading, the benchmark index of the DSE advanced 50.24 points, while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse rose 70.54 points.
DSEX, the Broad Index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 50.24 points or 0.91 percent to stand at 5518.58 at 11:31am. The two other indices also edged higher.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 11.54 points or 0.91 per cent to stand at 1279.81 points. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 16.37 points or 0.82 per cent to stand at 2009.52.
Trade deals stood at 39974 shares to stand at Tk 2316.41 million on the DSE, riding on Islami Bank and Bangladesh Export Import Company. Of the issues traded, 213 advanced, 45 declined and 27 remained unchanged.
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 176.40 million having changed hands. Following the suit, the Chittagong Stock Exchange Selective Categories Index (CSCX) climbed up to 10343.54 by gaining over 70.54 points at about 11:27am. Out of the issues traded, 114 gained, 32 declined and 14 remained unchanged.
