The key share price indices at the country’s twin bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – experienced marginal gain on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, Agencies report. The DSE key index, DSEX gained 7.01 points or 0.15 percent to close at 4580.76 on the day. Of the 318 issues traded, 138 gained, 134 declined and 40 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 405.02 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday against Tk 348.28 crore on Thursday. Fu-Wang Ceramic topped the 10 gainers’ list at Dhaka bourse while other companies were Quasem Drycells, Purabi General Insurance, Malek Spinning Mills, Islami Insurance Bangladesh, Trust Bank, Linde Bangladesh, C & A Textiles, S Alam Cold Rolled Steels and BSRM Limited.The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Ifad Autos, Square Pharmaceuticals, KDS Accessories, AFC Agro Biotech and Trust Bank. Top five losers at the DSE were Usmania Glass, Delta Spinners, Industrial Promotion and Development Company, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund and Simtex Industries.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 1.09 points to reach 13979.70 at close on Sunday. Of the 247 issues traded, 100 advanced, 117 suffered loss and 30 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 29.15 crore on the day.
