The benchmark index at the country’s twin bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – gained marginally on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, agencies report. The DSE key index, DSEX slightly gained 1.61 points or 0.03 percent to close at 4649.29 on the day. Of the 320 issues traded, 158 gained, 123 declined and 34 remained unchanged.
Shares worth Tk 325.71 crore changed hands at the DSE on Sunday as against Tk 356.18 crore on Thursday. The day’s top 10 gainers at the DSE were Miracle Industries, Standard Ceramic, Desh Garmants, Hakkani Pulp & Paper, Deshbandhu Polymer, Anwar Galvanizing, Exim Bank 1st Mutual Fund, Fu-Wang Ceramic, Anlimayarn Deying and Monno Ceramic.
The top five turnover leaders at the DSE were Aman Feed, KDS Accessories, CVO Petrochemical Refinery, Beximco Pharma and United Airways. Top five losers at the DSE were Eastern Housing, Green Delta Mutual, Dhaka Electric Supply Company, Mozaffar Hossain Spinning and KDS Accessories.
The key index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI gained 1.35 points to reach 14198.55 at close on Sunday. Of the 233 issues traded, 113 advanced, 92 suffered loss and 28 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues at the port city bourse was Tk 29.28 crore on the day.
