Target’s Sunny New Designer Collaboration Will Leave You Dreaming Of Summer

Truth time: I’m still in partial recovery from fast-fashion’s last designer collaboration, the instantaneous sell-out that was Alexander Wang’s sporty range for H&M back in November. Let’s not forget about Target’s Altuzarra collection, a 50-piece line chockfull of sexy separates and flashy accessories. So, what’s next for Target? Yesterday, the mega-retailer announced its forthcoming project: a sunny, 250-piece collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer. The Palm Beach-friendly patterns may be a far cry from Altuzarra’s thigh-high slits and snakeskin prints, but no one can argue with Lilly Pulitzer’s preppy, universal appeal.  “This spring, we wanted to offer our guests a collection that embraced color, print and pattern in a bold, fresh way,” Target’s senior vice president of apparel and accessories Stacia Andersen wrote in a blog post. “As we started to think about the perfect partner to collaborate with, Lilly Pulitzer was the clear choice given the brand’s inspiring heritage, authority with print and pattern and resort-chic aesthetic.”
