The Inter-education Coordination Sub-Committee has published the third merit list of students aspiring to enrol in colleges. The list of 108,639 students is currently up on the website www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd, Dhaka education board’s College Inspector Asfakus Salehin told reporters on Saturday.
As many as 109,146 students had applied to get a spot in this list, he said.
Salehin said those who were yet to apply and who did not enrol in colleges would be able to apply again from July 13 to July 21 after the end of enrolment from the third list.
The first merit list was published on June 28 midnight, three days behind schedule, due to technical glitches.
Students had faced troubles in the admission process due to many errors in that list, while many colleges did not even get it on time. The second list was out on July 6.
Apologising for the trouble, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the students would be able to enrol without paying any late fee until July 26. Colleges in Bangladesh have been admitting students based on Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination results for the past several years.
But the students had to apply online and submit fees through SMS for the first time this year, agencies report.
