Three exhibits to open at CAA

The Cooperstown Art Association will have its biggest community-wide opening reception of the year, with the start of three shows: “Essential Art,” the 23rd Annual Regional Juried Art Show; “Color Me Fancy,” pastels by Pamela Menotti; and the Cooperstown Central School Art Exhibit. The public reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, with music by CCS students, wine and snacks made by community members.

“Essential Art” is a juried art show celebrating the talents of artists living in New York. The jurors this year are Charles Bremer and Edmond Rinnooy-Kan. The exhibit will be on display through May 30 in Gallery A.

“Color Me Fancy,” a solo exhibition of pastels by Pamela Menotti, showcases the work she has developed through painting in pastel for the past 12 years. This show, in Gallery B, will also be on display through May 30.

The tradition of the Cooperstown Central School Art Exhibit will fill the upstairs ballroom gallery through May 25.

Admission to the Cooperstown Art Association is free. The CAA galleries are at the 22 Main St. Building on the corner of Main and Fair streets. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. It will be closed Tuesdays through Memorial Day.
