Two hurt as PMO tree falls during hailstorm

Two people were injured as a tree fell on a car on the road adjacent to the Prime Minister’s Office during the hailstorm on Monday night, Agencies report.

Tejgoan police sub-inspector Atiqur Rahman said a  PMO office compound tree toppled over the fence and fell on a moving pickup van on the road, injuring the driver and his assistant.

The identities of the two injured are not known as yet. They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The sub-inspector also said several other trees were also knocked down by the storm in the PMO compound.

Dhaka North City Corporation control room wireless supporter Masud told Prothom Alo the city corporation is working on cleaning up the debris.
