Parliament on Tuesday saw uproar over Central Bureau of Investigation’s raid on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s office, with Opposition parties rallying behind the AAP leader, The Hindu reports. The CBI conducted searches at the office of Secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday, in a stern message, asked its MPs to be present in House for the remainder of the winter session of Parliament. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said the winter session of Parliament, which had started with much promise of a détente between the government and the Opposition, was “threatened with a washout.” This diminished significantly the chances of the passage of the Goods and Services Tax Bill, 2014.
Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also made an announcement that all BJP MPs would contribute Rs 10,000 each for Chennai flood relief.
