THUGS left a vulnerable man with a broken jaw and eye socket after mugging him – for a CIGARETTE. The 59-year-old, who lives in sheltered housing, was on his way to the shops when he was attacked by three bullies, The Sun reports.
They demanded money before beating him up and running off with nothing but fags. Detective Constable Aimee Batt said: “This was a savage attack on a vulnerable man who suffered very nasty injuries.
“We’re carrying out extensive inquiries that includes forensic and CCTV work but in the meantime we’re really eager to hear from people who may have seen something suspicious or know anything about the assault.
“The victim has agreed for us to issue the injury photos in an attempt to encourage anyone who may be reluctant for any reason.” The attack took place in Gloucester at 7.30pm on March 24.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested for GBH.
