What does the future hold? Queen of astrology, Mystic Meg, is back to tell you all…

WT24 Desk

TODAY the queen of astrology, Mystic Meg, is returning to The Sun to give her daily horoscopes using her psychic powers and amazing knowledge of the planets, according to The Sun.

Britain’s favourite psychic astrologer took a year-long break from newspaper horoscopes but is back after being bombarded with requests from readers who wanted her predictions again.

In a rare interview Meg, 73, told the Sun on Sunday: “I realised with the messages I was receiving that the readers missed me — and I missed them. Sometimes you have to be apart to know that you belong together.”

Meg was born into the world of predictions and inherited her talents from her grandmother who was a fortune teller in north-west England.  Psychic Meg, who was born Margaret Anne Lake, told us: “My grandmother played a key part when I was growing up.

“It seemed very normal to me, from a very early age, that instead of bedtime stories she would talk to me about the planets and the moon. “Clients would come to our home and she would tell their fortunes with her crystal ball. From about the age of five I would just sit in the corner and watch, listen and learn.

“She also used tarot cards to predict the future as well as Viking rune stones. I went on to do the same. “I made my own set of runes by painting the magical alphabet on pebbles collected from the garden.

“We were very close — the only two in the family who were interested in fortune telling. “My grandmother had clients until the end. She died about 40 years ago

“I stay in every New Year and I speak with her. “She was the kindest person and I love to spend time talking to her and have that comforting chat ready for the year ahead.”

With her inherited psychic powers, a huge interest in fortunes and endless hours of research, Meg wanted to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps. But laughing she reveals: “I wasn’t allowed. She told me I had to put my career first! So I went to university and became an English teacher.

“Then I was a sub-editor on magazines and newspapers. I continued to do readings in my spare time because I loved it so much.” In 1980 her newspaper boss discovered her secret talents. Sadly Meg’s grandmother died before she became a household name and did predictions on The National Lottery Live.

She was so popular that on the launch of the show 22million viewers tuned in.  Single Meg, a Leo, lives in London and says she loves what she does. She said: “I am fascinated by planets and how they influence our lives.

“What is going to happen is going to happen anyway but I can see a preview of that by looking at your star sign and the planets. “If Jupiter is in a good position in the sky it affects us all. Venus and Mars are very important for love and passion and Saturn gives us challenges — some people call them ‘problems’ but I like to be optimistic.

“My favourite part of astrology is relationships. Not necessarily love but just how we are all working together. And I have loved predicting lottery wins for Sun readers over the years. That has given me great pleasure.

“Someone looking at this page right now is going to be a winner!” Meg believes our lives are destined by the stars from the minute we are born — but what we make of that destiny is up to us. And if any Sun on Sunday readers have a child today Meg predicts their son or daughter will be courageous and friendly.

She said: “A baby born today will have the sun in Aries so they would be an Aries but the moon would be in Aquarius. “So they would have two very different aspects to their personality — energy and courage from Aries but friendliness and a kind-hearted nature from Aquarius.

“If I could be any star sign I would be an Aries as they are dynamic and decisive. They have confidence. “As you go through the star signs people become more reflective but Aries is at the beginning. It is fascinating. I am thrilled to be back doing daily horoscopes.

“During the past year I have been working on my website but I missed hearing from readers telling me how I helped in their lives. “We all want to be happy and I hope to bring uplifting news. Obviously you can’t always do that but there is always a solution somewhere.

“If you know what lies ahead you can be stronger and ready.” Meg still checks her own daily fortune, too. The cat-loving vegan kicks off each morning with carrot juice, toast and soya spread before gazing into her crystal ball.

She said: “It tells me what I need to know and what I need to do, how the day will unfold. I see things in handwriting on postcards. I don’t see it every day, though. It is like being a footballer — you can’t be on form every day!

“The notes usually tell me to get in touch with somebody. It could be someone I have neglected, somebody who needs me or has something important to tell me.” Away from work, Meg breeds racehorses. She has six mares at Newmarket and one is due to have a foal any day.

Meg, who also appears on the Sun Bingo website with Wheel Of Destiny, said: “You can tell a lot from a horse’s horoscope.

“In the last eight years of the Grand National, Taurus horses have won six times. Red Rum was a Taurus, too. I go to see my horses regularly. I love to go to the races too and have a bet. I don’t do any research as that would feel too much like work. I just look at the form and have a flutter.”

Meg, whose astrology books have been translated into Japanese, Russian and Hungarian, is so famous that she can no longer do private readings. She said: “I had to stop about 20 years ago. I felt terrible turning some people down and saying yes to others. That is why I love these horoscopes. I can give horoscopes to so many.”

But Meg — like many of her fans — also believes in good old-fashioned luck. She said: “I love charm bracelets. I started wearing mine again when the astrological year began in March.

“And now I’m back in The Sun, so this bracelet must be my lucky charm.”

Lotto luck

ALL the big lottery winners I’ve met believed they were going to win. And visualising yourself receiving a winner’s cheque could help it happen.

Her big predictions

I SEE success in June for the England team – and a vital goal scored by the goalkeeper.

PRINCE Harry will announce his engagement before Christmas.

PRINCESS Beatrice then Eugenie also reveal wedding plans – and they will compete to see whose is the most imaginative.

I SEE two political party leaders being replaced by the autumn.

I CONFESS I’ve been predicting the discovery of life on Mars for years! But now it could really happen.

A SUN reader in Birmingham will create a soap as popular as EastEnders. It will be set in the world of fashion mags.

ONE of my predictions that hasn’t come true yet is Prince Andrew and Fergie remarrying. I still think they will.

A TERRIER rescue dog will repay his kind owners by digging up a valuable hoard of jewellery.

POLITICIANS will fret when an ex-MP writes a sexy novel featuring recognisable faces.

(March 21 to April 20)

The Mars/Pluto connection gives you extra confidence and a sense of adventure so you can make the most of unexpected opportunities. If you start the day single that could change in a heartbeat when you meet a stylish Libra who seems to read your mind.

Luck will visit door number 109.

(April 21 to May 21)

As your mentor planet Venus revs up, a deeper level of commitment turns a good partnership into a great one. Single? Your new love is a medic. You can take a stronger line with family finances and share out responsibilities in a  fair way.

There are celebrations when a relative wins a place on a team.

(May 22 to June 21)

Contacting a friend you had lost touch with has a lucky outcome for both of you. The sun creates a warmer mood at work, making it easier for you to talk about your ideas.

Later on, partners reveal their deepest feelings – perhaps for the first time. Single? New love has a name beginning with T.

(June 22 to July 22)

Mind planet Mercury is on the move, helping you think faster and say “yes” to opportunities, instead of missing out by spending too long thinking things through.

Love-wise, it’s easier to share your hopes with a partner. Single? See the same face in two very different places and it could be love.

(July 23 to August 23)

Feisty Mars helps you believe in your talents and get such a positive reaction from other people.

But as Venus goes as far as it can in your emotions chart, showing you take love seriously is a wise move –¿ whether you’re already in a relationship or free to start a new one. Luck is travelling to find you.

(August 24 to September 22)

Pluto, planet of change, focuses on the luckiest part of your chart – so success is close but it may arrive when you least expect it.

Later on, dreamy planet Neptune focuses on relationships and even if you think that love at first sight is not your style, it can happen when a friend introduces you to “G”.

(September 23 to October 23)

Mercury goes as far as it can in your opposite sign and brings out your gift for solving problems for other people and there’s a bonus of luck for you, especially at work.

When it comes to your love life, you want to know more about someone special but resist asking too many questions too soon.

(October 24 to November 22)
You can be strong and determined at work or if you’re looking for a new job. In every area of your life, instead of settling for the easy options, you go after what you really want.

The moon of love can put the romance back into a relationship that’s just been ticking over. Single? You meet in a financial location.

(November 23 to December 21)

Even if you don’t see yourself as the ambitious type, Mars ensures that you are now. Instead of keeping ideas at the back of your mind, you work on them and turn them into winners.

Your competitive side is a love attractor, too. The best way to help a friend with big decisions to make is just to listen.

(December 22 to January 20)

Instead of fretting about what to say, just start talking and intuitive Neptune will help you to find the right words at home and at work. It’s the attentive way you listen that encourages a partner to open up, and this deepens a love-bond.

Single? When a newcomer’s voice sounds familiar, you’ve found love.

(January 21 to February 18)

Instead of wondering who contributes most to a relationship, you can relax and simply enjoy it – and this gives love its best chance of working. Single? You’ve met before but this time both you and “T” feel the attraction.

Work-wise, you stay calm when others get frazzled, which helps you make progress.

(February 19 to March 20)

As the moon visits your personality chart, it gives you that special something that makes people warm to your ideas. You’re able to make challenging changes, not just easy ones.

If you’re single, someone you worked or studied with makes a welcome reappearance in your life – and it gets so romantic.
