A woman was killed while her mother and brother injured in an altercation between neighbours over a stolen mobile phone memory card at Madarbari in the port city on Saturday night, Agencies report.
The deceased was identified as Bali Begum, 25, wife of Nur Nabi of the area.
Md Alauddin, sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost, confirmed it saying that two families locked into an altercation over a stolen mobile phone memory card.
At one stage, Joy, a member of the neighbouring family, stabbed Bali Begum with a knife. The victim’s mother Baby Akhter, 50 and brother Md Sumon, 28, sustain injuries when they tried to save her, police said.
Later, they were taken to the CMCH where the duty doctor declared Bali Begum dead and admitted the injured there, the SI added.
