2 ‘outlaws’ killed

“Gunfight” in Bogura

Two suspected members of an outlawed party were killed in a reported gunfight between two groups in Bhabanipur Bazar Bridge area of Sherpur upazila early Friday, Agencies report.

The deceased were identified as Liton, 35 and Afsar, 45.

Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Sherpur Police Station, said that on information about a gunfight between two groups, a team of police conducted the drive around 1:30am.

Sensing the presence of police, they fled the scene.

Later, police rescued the duo who sustained bullet injuries during the exchange of fire.

The injured were rushed to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared them dead.

Police recovered a one shooter gun, eight round bullet and sharp weapons from the spot.
