Army man shot dead

Patrolling beefed up in Rangamati

A member of Bangladesh Army was shot dead by unknown miscreants in Poyaitumukh area of Rangmati Sunday  morning, Agencies report.

Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) confirmed the matter in a press release.

The 19-year-old Nasim sustained bullet injuries when the criminals opened fire at an army patrol team in Poyaitumukh area located south of Rajasthali army camp, around 10am, it said.

The injured soldier was immediately airlifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH, Chattogram) where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. 

Patrolling capacity has been strengthened in the area, ISPR Director Lt Col Abdullah Ibn Zayed told this correspondent.
