Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, deeply aggrieved of the killing of BUET student Abrar Fahad, directed to take stern action against those involved in the heinous crime, Agencies report.
The premier expressed her condemnation at an informal meeting with party leaders at the PM’s official residence Ganabhaban on Tuesday night.
Talking to several leaders present at the meeting, the Prime Minister said, “None who were involved in such tragic incident will be spared, they must be punished. We have ordered to ensure maximum punishment for all the involved”.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister gave necessary instructions to the acting president and general secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
The BCL leaders will hold a press conference at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University (DU) at 11am on Wednesday (October 9), over the killing of Abrar Fahad, a student of BUET.
In the hour-long meeting with Awami League leaders, the Prime Minister and also the president of the party has directed the BCL leaders to hold the press conference.
She also expressed anger over the absence of the Vice Chancellor on the campus on the day after Fahad’s death. In this regard, the Prime Minister questioned, what kind of person is the VC? One student has died, and he was absent on the campus such a long time!
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed all to be vigilant so that no one can create unstable situation in the university area centering the killing of Abrar.
The meeting was attended by Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, joint general secretaries Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BM Mozammel Haque, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Chhatra League’s acting president Al Nahian Khan Joy, acting general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharya.
