THIS is the shocking moment a man narrowly escaped death after getting “stuck” in electricity pylon cables.
Terrifying photos capture the dramatic rescue of a semi-naked man as he dangled 60ft in the air, Daily Star reports.
Emergency services rushed to the bizarre incident in Hutton, Lancs after a passerby spotted the mystery man hanging on for dear life – wearing only a pair of red shorts.
Fire service, police and air ambulance crews arrived to find the man “stuck” in the 275 kV cables yesterday.
Fortunately the electricity supply was shut off before tragedy could occur.
An ambulance rushed the bloke – believed to be in his 30s – to the Royal Preston Hospital as a precaution.
A statement from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The call came from the police reporting that a man, alive but incapacitated, was trapped at a height of 20 metres above the ground on an electricity pylon.
“The utility company shut off the electricity to the pylon and members of the Rope Rescue Team ascended the pylon, initially securing the casualty to prevent him falling, then administering medication provided by medical personnel at the scene.”
A spokesman for the National Grid earlier said: “We are aware of a person having climbed a pylon near Penwortham.
“We have switched off the overhead line and the emergency services are on site dealing with the situation.
